They can be invited by email and get an account with no password, just a link. That is the recommended path because it is what puts their name on the entries they log. A share link works too if you would rather not invite them properly, but then entries are not attributed by name.

The log is append only, so an entry is not edited after the fact. You can delete your own mistaken entry and log it again, and as the owner you can delete anybody's.

A care log built for one handed use at 3am

Baby Care Log records the day as it happens: feeds, naps, nappies, medicine and notes, each with a start time, an optional duration and a line of detail. The top of the page answers the only question anybody asks at night, which is how long since the last feed and when the last nap ended. Below that sits today's timeline, newest first, and the evening recap. Logging is four buttons, because the person logging is usually holding a baby with the other hand.

Who it is for

New parents in the first months, and specifically households where more than one person is doing the caring: a grandparent on a Tuesday, a nanny on a Thursday, two parents alternating nights. If only one person ever logs anything, a notes app is fine. The moment two people need the same answer, a shared log stops being optional.

Setting it up on the first night

Installing gives you an empty log at its own private address, which is the right starting state here: nobody wants a demo baby's naps in their timeline. On Android Chrome it offers to install itself to your home screen; on iPhone Safari it shows you the Share then Add to Home Screen steps. After that it opens like an app rather than a bookmark.

What the other caregivers get

Invite each caregiver by email and they get a link that signs them in. Everyone sees the same timeline and it updates live, so a partner in the next room sees the feed appear as it is logged rather than after a refresh.

The log is append only, because a care log that can be quietly rewritten is not worth reading back. What is allowed is removing a genuine mistake: a caregiver can delete an entry they logged themselves, and you as owner can delete any of them. Every entry carries the name of the caregiver who logged it, which is the difference between a 3am answer you can act on and one you have to check.

Asking your AI instead of scrolling

Say a feed happened and it writes the entry with the duration and the side. Ask how many feeds there have been today, or how long since the last nap, and it counts rather than making you count.

At bedtime it writes the recap: a summary line, the feed count and the total nap minutes. Only your AI can write a recap, so that panel is always its read of the day and never a half finished note somebody left. It will also say what it notices across a week, for instance that naps have been drifting half an hour later each day.

What it is not

It is not medical software and gives no medical advice. It connects to no monitor, scale or wearable, so weights and temperatures are things you type. It does not alarm, so nothing here will wake you for a missed feed. And the data, while private to you and the people you invite, is stored on Homespun's servers rather than encrypted so that only you can read it.
